Stars for Europe

Equipped with a camera, a notepad, and twenty printed questionnaires I traveled to Bucharest in autumn 2022. I met young Romanians and a dialogue emerged about the construct of Europe, our different realities, and shared hopes – about what connects us more than 2000 kilometers apart.

The project «Stars for Europe» was part of a group exhibition at Hochschule Luzern in 2022 and exhibited at Fotowerkschau Luzern in 2023. In this context, the dummy of a photobook transformed into a Zine which contains images and a written reportage. The photographs and handwritten charts became part of a projection which presented them as ephemeral memories. Furthermore, I extended the collaborative part to the Swiss audience and invited them to share their thoughts about Switzerland and Europe. Thus, I revisited my method of expressing questions of identity via collaborative charts.
